Book Clubs

How to run a title-first book club (without killing momentum)

A practical structure for clubs built around one specific book instead of broad reading lists.

Most book clubs fail in the same way: they start wide and stay vague. The solution is to anchor the club around one title and one reading rhythm from day one. Start with a short framing post before discussion begins. Tell readers exactly what this room is for, how spoilers are handled, and where to post chapter reactions. This reduces confusion and creates cleaner participation. Use weekly chapter checkpoints rather than one giant thread. Breaking discussion into smaller beats gives slower readers room to stay involved and gives faster readers a place to post deeper analysis. Finally, keep the room alive after the final chapter. Ask for favorite lines, character verdicts, and reread insights. Long-tail discussion is where community identity gets strong.
